I’m a biostatistician in Seattle, WA. My interests are in statistics education and the roles that statistics and statisticians have in everyday scientific research. It’s been my experience that real scientific thinking and careful understanding of data are rare in research, and statisticians too often are passive or reactive in that realm. My ambition is to understand and promote
- How statistical theory and practice can best align with and support careful scientific reasoning, and
- How statisticians can be more proactive and fully involved in the scientific process.
